This foundation class covers the history, philosophy and concepts of Ortho-Bionomy®
and provides an overview of the basic release techniques.  Movements and positions of comfort are demonstrated to facilitate the release of muscular tension and overall stress by stimulating the inherent, self-corrective reflexes of the body which help the body create structural alignment and balance from within.
This class is an in depth look at the core. The instructor will present Phase Four techniques that specifically focus on with issues at the spine. This will include working at the neck, thoracic spine, ribs, psoas & pelvis.  The student will be taught to observe and recognize subtle changes that signify release of tension patterns and muscular contractions patterns and muscular contractions.  There will be a strong focus placed on the comfort of the person who is on table as well as the practitioner.

Liz Olivas is the president and founder of The Therapeutic Alternative. She is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist who has trained with Hildegard Wittlinger of The Dr. Vodder School in Walschee, Austria. Additionally, she is an Advanced Practitioner and a Registered Instructor of Ortho-Bionomy® with the Society of Ortho-Bionomy International®.

She has combined and blended methods in the treatment of post mastectomy lymphedema and post mastectomy pain syndromes. She also works with clients who have post-surgical issues caused by edema, scar tissue and traumas, as well as structural misalignments.
As a pioneer in her field, she has explored outside the box of the conventional approach to treatment and is sought out to teach and share her discoveries with students as well as other therapists.
